This is not a love song

Canzoni…

Da queste parti la musica è di casa; è il combustibile essenziale per mandare avanti la baracca e la sua fauna. Ma qui, di solito, l’attore protagonista è l’album, sia che si tratti del vecchio, glorioso, vinile, sia il più moderno, ma molto meno seducente, compact disc. Le singole canzoni che lo compongono, spesso, hanno un ruolo quasi secondario, anche se poi sono l’unica cosa realmente fondamentale nella musica pop e i suoi derivati. Ora è giunto il momento di dare un altro po’ di spazio anche a queste piccole figurine secondarie, ma insostituibili per il metabolismo umano.
Non ci poteva essere un’occasione migliore di questi giorni, con la fine della massima manifestazione nazional-popolare in terra italica, il santo canterino della riviera ligure che non ha mai trovato posto in calendario, ma si è trovato benissimo nel palinsesto tv. Anzi, quest’anno, grazie a Fazio, la Littizzetto, Crozza, Bisio e qualche canzoncina più gradevole del solito (Max Gazzè, Antonio Maggio, Annalisa, Renzo Rubino, Elio e le sue Storie, Cristicchi, Almamegretta e Gualazzi) non è stato neanche così male. Sono solo canzonette, ma quest’anno, alcune di loro, hanno ricevuto una mano di vernice fresca, con qualche tinta folk e con qualche ritmo meno soporifero del solito.
Ma (ovviamente) non è di queste canzoncine che voglio parlare in questo spazio. Qui, in questa zona di ripopolamento, in questa specie di riserva indiana, ci nutriamo di pane e rock’n’roll, nel bene e nel male, e, a volte, manca pure il pane. Quindi lascio volare via la musica leggera, senza rimpianti (del resto, riuscirà a trovare una dislocazione adatta in innumerevoli spazi, sia virtuali sia fisici).


Con le canzoni succede, più o meno, quello che accade con le malattie dell’infanzia: le passiamo tutti, ma solo alcune lasciano il segno, solo di qualcuna ci si ricorda a distanza di tempo, e ognuno ha la sua preferita. Perché è proprio l’infanzia il periodo in cui si è più ricettivi verso tutto ciò che avviene nel mondo esterno; in quel delicato lasso di tempo si formano inconsapevolmente la coscienza politica, i gusti nel vestire, mangiare, vivere e ascoltare. Certo, influisce molto l’ambiente in cui si vive; sono di fondamentale importanza le abitudini e i gusti dei fratelli maggiori o degli amici più grandi. Quello che fanno i genitori, di solito, non ha alcuna importanza, anzi, quasi sempre, si tende a fare l’esatto contrario. Se uno, invece, ha la sfiga di avere un fratello che ascolta Pupo, difficilmente crescerà senza problemi, senza turbe psichiche e senza tutta la collezione di dischi partorita da Sanremo.
In ogni caso ognuno ha le sue canzoni, quelle che s’incollano all’anima e si fissano nei neuroni. Non necessariamente sono le più belle in senso assoluto, spesso diventano la nostra colonna sonora solo per puro caso o per un’insieme di fortunate coincidenze. E, quasi sempre, le nostre canzoni non piacciono agli altri; sono nostre e basta.



Come ho già scritto più volte in questo piccolo blog disgraziato, il primo album in assoluto che ho comprato è stato “Damned Damned Damned.” Invece, i primi 45 giri (i “singoli” nel linguaggio corrente) sono stati: “Heart of Glass” dei Blondie, “Respectable” dei Rolling Stones, “Days are OK” dei Motels, “Drive” dei Cars, “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” dei Bauhaus, “Basta Basta” dei Kaos Rock, “Brave New World” dei New Model Army e “Stand and Deliver” di Adam and the Ants.



In quel periodo le canzoni che più ronzavano nelle orecchie (le malattie dell’infanzia di cui sopra) erano: “Hotel California” degli Eagles, “You Shook me All Night Long” degli AC/DC, “Whole Lotta Love” e “Stairway to Heaven” degli Zeppelin, “Speed King” e “Strange Kind of Woman” dei Deep Purple, “Blitzkrieg Bop” e “Sheena is a Punk Rocker” dei Ramones, “Blank Generation” di Richard Hell, “Psycho Killer” dei Talking Heads,  “Born to Lose” di Johnny Thunders, “Message in Bottle” e “Roxanne” dei Police, “I Was Made for Loving You” e “Charisma” dei Kiss, “The Passion of Lovers” e “Hollow Hills” dei Bauhaus, “Killers” e “Women in Uniform” degli Iron Maiden, “A Forest” e “Boys Don’t Cry” dei Cure, “Decades” e “New Dawn Fades” dei Joy Division, “Heroes” e “Ziggy Stardust” di David Bowie, “Voodoo Idol” e “Kizmiaz” dei Cramps e così via. Di tutto e di più; pop, rock, hard rock, heavy metal, dark, punk e chissà cos’altro. E tutto questo ti rimane per sempre, tatuato all’interno, sulle cellule, su ogni cellula.

Si potrebbe continuare all’infinito, ma già sono troppe anche queste (per metterle insieme, anche se si sceglie il formato mp3, sono necessari un bel po’ di cd vergini) e penso di aver frantumato i maroni a più di un lettore.
In ogni caso con queste si va sul sicuro, credetemi. Sono di generi diversi per non annoiarsi troppo (pop, post punk, hardcore, folk, neo folk, electro, dark, punk, heavy metal, thrash, indie, horror punk, symphonic metal, industrial, gothic, grunge...). Potete acquistarle o scaricarle in assoluta sicurezza. Soddisfatti o rimborsati...
