Come sempre gennaio è il mese (almeno nella sua prima parte) dedicato al bilancio dell'anno appena trascorso, alle classifiche, alle statistiche, ai referendum dei lettori e ad altre noiose attività.
Come promesso (o minacciato, fate voi) nel precedente post il primo nato dell'anno si occupa anche questa volta dei migliori dischi pubblicati nel corso di quello appena morto. Finché è ancora caldo, e ben prima che subentri il rigor mortis, e prima che buona parte di questi suoni si vaporizzino e si perdano tra le tempestose cascate di novità che travolgono la scena senza un attimo di sosta.
Negli anni 2000 è più facile fare musica e renderla disponibile attraverso gli innumerevoli canali digitali (bandcamp, soundcloud) o i tanto amati-odiati social network. Quindi la massa di nuove sonorità e nuove band cresce ogni anno in modo esponenziale. Ogni anno si presenta uno tsunami di novità alle quali è quasi impossibile stare dietro... Sembra che quasi tutti gli umani che sbocciano nelle terre d'occidente abbiano come unico scopo della vita quello di percuotere uno strumento musicale.
Nel 2014 penso di aver ascoltato (non so ancora come ci sia riuscito e come ne sia uscito vivo) qualcosa come 8-900 album nuovi e altrettanti tra demo, ep e 7 pollici. Un lavoro pesante e stressante che sicuramente non ripeterò nel 2015... Da solo è impossibile.
Comunque, anche questa volta, sono riuscito a portare a termine l'immane abbuffata senza riportare danni fisici o traumi psichici irreversibili. Almeno spero...
Sto ancora digerendo.
Nel 2014 sono usciti tantissimi dischi degni di nota, a mio modesto parere; c'è stata una rigogliosa fioritura di tutta un serie di nuove (o quasi) creature interessanti, soprattutto nella terra post punk e zone limitrofe: Hurula, Dark Blue, You., Total Control, Cold Waste, Eagulls, Lower, Population, Moth, Rhythm of Cruelty...
Ma anche tante sorprendenti conferme in vari generi e sotto-generi, dal metal estremo, al punk all'indie rock: Behemoth, Fukpig, Anaal Nathrakh, Atriarch, Horror Vacui, Lagwagon, 7 Seconds, Hateful Abandon, Pennywise, Doom, Dephosphorus, Hexis, Mark Lanegan, Rome, Tombs, Okkultokrati, Impaled Nazarene, Vader...
La scelta del disco dell'anno, ma anche di tutti gli altri album presenti in questa classifica, non è stata affatto facile, non solo per la quantità immensa di materiale ma anche per l'alto tasso qualitativo di una grande parte dell'infornata 2014.
È stata, come si suol dire, una buona annata, sia per qualità sia per quantità.
Qui sotto c'è il disco vincitore e tutta una serie di leccornie sonore di vari generi. Ma, come potete notare, è molto diversa dalla maggior parte delle classifiche stilate dagli altri blog musicali e dai siti internet che si occupano di questa materia. Qui non c'è (quasi) niente di pop, commerciale o troppo leggero. Per questi tipi di musica, non necessariamente peggiori o inferiori da qualsiasi punto di vista rispetto a quelli che troverete su queste pagine, ci sono già tantissimi altri spazi in giro per il web.
